Recognised mostly as a defender and strong rebounder from the wing Al-farouq Aminu started every game this year and managed to average double digit scoring for the first time in his career. While he certainly hasn’t been an offensive focal point his shooting and confidence improved as the season wore on.
Against Aminu’s former team the Los Angeles Clippers however he has struggled mightily this season. In seven games spanning the regular season and playoffs Aminu is yet to score more than 10 points and is shooting a hideous .294 from the field. The Clippers have been trapping Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum to get the ball out of their hands, a plan that has led to a heap of open three’s for Aminu but he just can’t hit them, and his confidence has been shaken.
