The Clippers have been all over the place since the all-star break going 10-10 with the worst loss coming two games ago against Sacramento when they were leading by 18 with less than 5 minutes remaining and went on to lose. The performance of Chris Paul, the team’s undisputed general, has mirrored this inconsistency. This has been most apparent in his passing game.
It seems that the days of CP3 dropping 10 assists a game are now gone, and although he is averaging a healthy 9.2apg for the season, that has dipped to 7.8 in the month of march. In fact, he has only cleared this line of 9 assists four times in the last 18 games.
The Suns are one of the youngest teams ever and are just terrible defensively. Their horrible defense seems to have an odd effect on opposition point guards assist totals, with it being so easy to score, there is no need to pass. As a result, the Suns have restricted opposing PG’s to almost 10% fewer assists per game. Add to the fact that this game has blowout written all over it and Paul might only play 25 minutes, we love this under.
