Dennis Smith Jr. – Over 14.5

Dennis Smith Jr’s rookie year was a classic display from a wildly talented score first guard. Inefficient volume shooting, lots of mistakes and very few wins. To his credit, coach Rick Carlisle let Smith Jr play through his mistakes for the most part and early on this season we are starting to see the benefits.

Smith Jr’s efficiency and decision making has improved across the board and he is already building a strong bond with incoming rookie sensation Luka Doncic. He has been aggressive looking for his shot, but not to a point of forcing it, and while the three ball isnt dropping yet, he is shooting almost 50% on 2 point attempts. Additionally Doncic’s presence as a creator has opened up increase off ball opportunities and his assisted field goals are way up. The Spurs backcourt defence of Bryn Forbes and DeMar Derozen is a far cry from the San Antonio teams of old and should hold no fear for DSJ.
