This season has been a breakout for Ian Mahinmi, posting career highs in pretty much every single statistical category and a likely top 10 finish in the Most Improved Player award. This has happened despite the emergence of rookie Myles Turner who looks like to be a solid contributor going forward.
Towards the end of the season Mahinmi lost a little momentum and that poor form has carried over into the playoffs. He suffered a back injury in game two and looked like he was playing through pain which limited his effectiveness in game three. Myles Turner scored 17 in game three and is likely to see more time and with the nagging back issue and potential for foul trouble guarding the aggressive Jonas Valanciunas our projection has Mahinmi going under.
