At times throughout the season Tony Parker looked every bit his 34 years of age, struggling to get into the lane, mid-range not dropping and unable to keep up with opposing point guards. While the defense is still bad, the extra rest, game planning and big stage of the playoffs have brought out the best in Parker. Excluding the game three goose egg, Parker has been splendid, averaging 17.7ppg and 3.5apg.
His Memphis counterpart, Mike Conley, has been carrying such a huge load offensively that his defense has slipped allowing Parker to go off. The Grizzlies are also clearly conceding a certain number of shots to Parker in the hopes of limiting Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. Parker has cleared this line easily 3/5 games with a combined 16 in 24 minutes in game two, so we are confident he will again.
